In-Office Balloon Sinuplasty
The Memphis Sinus Relief Center is pleased to offer in-office Balloon Sinuplasty™ performed by Dr. Jan H. Petri, MD. She has been certified by Acclarent™ as a surgeon trained specifically on the use of balloon technology in the office. In addition, she has trained other doctors in this technology for Acclarent™.
Dr. Petri has performed hundreds of Balloon Sinuplasty procedures. More recently, she has received advanced training in the Medtronic™ NuVent™ sinus dilation procedure. It uses GPS-like computer guidance which considers each patient's unique anatomy.
“The patients have made me a believer in Balloon Sinuplasty™. For a patient to have the procedure in less than an hour and for it to clear up years of sinus difficulties is just amazing.
In my experience, almost everyone that has had the procedure breathes better through the nose within the first few days. Many have almost complete elimination of their sinus pressure and pain. I'm told that they are resting better. I've also heard from many that they can resume their normal life and activities... that's something they haven't felt well enough to do in years.” – Dr. Jan H. Petri, MD

Memphis is a Tough Town...
Memphis was named as the Asthma Capital of the United States for 2012 by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation. Memphis was also ranked #8 in a list of the Fifty Worst Cities for Allergy for both 2012 and 2013 by the same foundation, jumping all the way to #2 for 2014. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has ruled that three Memphis-area counties (Shelby, Crittenden, and part of Desoto) violate federal air quality standards (Memphis Commercial Appeal, December 20, 2012)
Allergy and environmental issues easily lead to sinus congestion, which can then trigger sinus infections and other issues. This affects more than 60 million Americans and has a serious impact on health.
